Industry Talks: A Networking Night With Tech Professionals

A Networking Night with Tech Professionals from Bloomberg, COOP, CUNY Tech Prep, Cerner Corporation, Transferwise, and Citi. After a panel discussion, students had the opportunity to meet each of our speakers face to face (virtually) for insight into the tech industry.

 

Speakers:

Julio Nicolas Bueno
Diversity Campus Recruiting Program Manager + Recruiter, Bloomberg LP

Julio Bueno is a Diversity Campus Recruiting Program Manager + Recruiter at Bloomberg. Previously, He was the Head of Securities + Research North America Campus Recruiting at J.P. Morgan. Before that he was a Diversity + Culture Senior Associate at Goldman Sachs. He has a degree in Accounting from the University of Florida. He is an avid aviation geek and passionate about equity in the workplace.


Morrell Gaskins
Associate Director of Recruiting, NYC, COOP

Morrell joined COOP’s full-time staff in 2019 as the Recruiting and Alumni Manager after serving as a COOP Captain twice. Morrell is COOP Alum, completing Digital Marketing Program in Fall of 2016 and then began his career at iCrossing as a Social Media Community Manager followed by a position at Altice USA as a Brand and Social Media Specialist.


Nicola Clements Glass
Career Coach, CUNY Tech Prep

Nicola Clements is a career coach at CUNY Tech Prep, where she supports students entering into the post-grad workforce. She began career coaching in 2019 at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City, NJ. Before then, she worked in a variety of roles and industries, including product and graphic design, book publishing, and until recently, corporate training and client management. She is committed to DE&I and in preparing all students to advocate for themselves throughout their careers. Nicola earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Art History and French Literature from Boston University.


Brian Wang ’16
Integrated Technologies Architect, Cerner Corporation

Brian Wang graduated in 2016 from The City College of New York with a B. Eng in Biomedical Engineering. Since graduating, he has worked for Cerner Corporation, a healthcare information technology company, based out of Kansas City, Missouri. He is currently an Integrated Technologies Architect within the U.S. Consulting organization of the company, where he leads the technical deployment of electronic health record (EHR) interface engines and medical devices for health systems across the United States and Canada. Brian spent the last 4 years living in Kansas City, Missouri and has recently relocated back the Greater New York City Area, where he is also pursuing a MS in Health Informatics part-time at the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Outside of work, his interests include photography, basketball, interior design, and gaming.


Zack DeSario
Data Analytics Manager, CUNY Tech Prep Instructor

Zack DeSario is a data science instructor at CUNY Tech Prep. Before joining CTP he was the Director of Analytics for a Presidential Campaign, and before that he was a Data Scientist at Google. His passions are data visualization, teaching, surfing, and pinball.


Jonathan Stieglitz
Full Stack Developer, Transferwise

Jon graduated from Hunter College in 2010. He studied biology while in school and entered a PhD program after he graduated but couldn’t stand it. Luckily, he learned some Python in school to help process data from his experiments. When he quit school, he used his Python knowledge to get an entry-level position at a software company as an automated test writer. Within a few months, he was a full-stack computer programmer. He has been working as a programmer for 6 years now and is currently at TransferWise here in New York.


Jevon Gordon
Data Analytics, Citi
