Jiani (she/her) is a Mental Health Counseling Intern, currently a second-year graduate student in the Psychological Counseling program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She graduated from University of California, Irvine with a double major in Psychological Science and Criminology, Law, and Society.

Jiani has experience working with college students as a peer counselor in two different settings, her undergraduate counseling center and a nonprofit organization, where she met with students individually to help them accomplish a variety of goals. She sees counseling as a collaborative
process and strives to hold a safe and growing space where her clients can feel seen and heard, and be their unapologetically selves. She works from a strength-based and client-centered perspective, with a multicultural lens, believing her clients have what it takes to thrive and make changes. She is also passionate about mental health advocacy and outreach.

Jiani is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese and enjoys exploring NYC in her free time.
