Macaulay BioBlitz is an exciting and unique educational project that provides every sophomore with an opportunity to collaborate with world renowned scientists. In a 24-hour, marathon session of research, teams of students will tally plants, animals and insects—all day and into the night! Their aim: to thoroughly measure and catalog the biodiversity of a selected New York city park or ecosystem.

Students use crowdsource technology to record and share their data, and then analyze and present their findings as part of their coursework.

BioBlitz is an amazing learning experience with real scientific data collection and valid research significance. Research is conducted by Macaulay students, and findings are published and made available for free use.
