Commencement exercises for the Macaulay Honors College class of 2017 will take place:

Everyone here at Macaulay is so excited and proud; and we’re working to make this one of the most memorable days of your life for you and your families.

The information below will answer most of the questions you may have. Individual colleges have their own requirements so please be in touch with your advisor.


Register by Friday, May 12, 2017

To participate in commencement and receive tickets, you must register by May 12, 2017

Monday, June 12, 2017

  • 2:00 pm – Students arrive at United Palace
  • 2:30 pm – Doors open for guest seating
  • 2:45 pm – Gather for procession
  • 3:00 pm – Commencement

Order by Friday, May 12, 2017

Students will be wearing black academic regalia provided by Herff Jones.

To order your cap and gown, go to the Herff Jones website here

Macaulay will provide your honors stole.

If you will be wearing black academic regalia for your home campus, department, or other ceremony, you may also wear it at Macaulay’s commencement. Students are not permitted to wear any other color during Macaulay’s ceremony. Macaulay will provide a 2017 gold tassel for students who do not have one.

Tickets will be available for pickup at your campus Macaulay office the week of May 15. All students who register will receive 5 tickets.

Students may request extra tickets. Extra tickets are not guaranteed. You will be contacted after May 12th if we are able to provide you with additional tickets.

Guests cannot attend commencement without a ticket (including children).

  • Register by Friday, May 12, 2017.
  • Purchase your cap and gown from the Herff Jones website by Friday, May 12, 2017.
  • Complete the Macaulay Honors College Senior Survey 2017.
  • Starting May 15th: Pick up your commencement tickets from your campus Macaulay office.
  • Day of ceremony (Monday, June 12):
    • Arrive at United Palace, 4140 Broadway by 2:00 pm
    • Please note that there is no place to store your personal belongings. Please come dressed and you may leave your personal items with your guests.
    • Pick up your honors stole and Class of 2017 tassel
    • Gather for procession at 2:45pm

Donate Your Commencement Robe

Macaulay Honors College will donate unwanted gowns to an underserved high school in the New York City area. Our goal is to collect at least 100 gowns to outfit a graduating class. At the conclusion of commencement you can drop off your gown in the lobby of United Palace.
