Congratulations to Joe Fernandez '20 (Queens), graduating with a B.S. in Fitness and Nutrition Sciences from Queens College! Your family is so proud of all of your accomplishments and can't wait to see you excel further as you go on to the DPT program at Stony Brook University!
Asimina Hamakiotes '20 (Baruch) has won the Kanner Prize for her outstanding mathematics thesis using advanced methods of numbers theory. The committee called it "a truly outstanding piece of work.”
Congratulations to Jennifer Dikler '20 (Hunter), who is a Luce scholar!
Jacqueline Kim ’20 (Queens), a communication sciences and disorders major, will serve as a Fulbright English teaching assistant in South Korea.
Brooklyn College has named Zainab Nathani '20 (Brooklyn) as Salutatorian for its Class of 2020. Nathani’s aspiration to serve her community began in elementary school and continues with plans to help address inequities in the healthcare system as a doctor in the field of public health.
Brooklyn College has named Roby Daniel '20 as Valedictorian for its Class of 2020. Triple major, Daniel will carry his experience as a mentor, health educator, volunteer, and researcher with him as he pursues a career in medicine.
Congratulations to Jonah Green, a math major with a minor in history at Lehman. Jonah has completed an REU in probability at UConn this past summer!
Congratulations to Isabella Joseph '20 (City College)! She has been selected as CCNY's Class of 2020 Salutatorian. Joseph is also graduating summa cum laude with a 3.94 GPA. She will receive a bachelor of architecture degree from the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture and is the first CCNY Salutatorian from the Spitzer School. She minored in anthropology.
Christian Buonamassa '20 (Baruch) has completed a winter internship with PwC, and received a full-time offer; additionally, he is Interning at Deloitte this summer, and has prior experience at EY, Goldman Sachs, & more. Congrats!
Masuma Sultana '20 (City) has been accepted into CUNY School of Medicine's Physician's Assistant program. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Jadyn Marshall '20 (Hunter), who has earned a Fulbright grant to teach in Greece.
Queens-born Sadaab Rahman, a double History and Political Science major at City College, will be choosing from over 10 acceptances from nationally-ranked law schools over next few weeks. He has received over $1 million in merit-based scholarships, and is excited to work towards his career as a malpractice attorney. He has also recently been named a finalist for City College’s valedictorian.
Congratulations to Miar Elaskandrany '20 (Brooklyn) for winning a Jonas Salk Scholarship.
Baruch College named Annmarie Gajdos as the Valedictorian, for the Class of 2020. Gajdos will receive a BBA in Computer Information Systems from the Zicklin School of Business.
Rebecca Zhang ’20 (Hunter), graduating this spring with a BA in behavioral neurobiology, has earned a Fulbright grant and will travel to Germany to pursue neuroscience research. Congrats!

Katlyn Palmatier '20 (City) is the former co-president of the Macaulay Queer Alliance and a peer leader for the CUNY LGBTQI Leadership Program, where she helped guide a leadership retreat in October 2019. Katlyn also participated in the Skadden Arps Honors Program in Legal Studies at CCNY and the S. Jay Levy Fellowship for Future Leaders.
Congratulations to Political Science major, Michael Sutherland '20 (Lehman). He’s contributed to two scholarly articles—one on the dynamics of environmental policy and another on sustainability policies—to be published this year. Plus, he’s graduating early!
Baruch College named Katherine Dorovitsine as the Salutatorian, for the Class of 2020. Dorovitsine will earn her BBA in Finance from the Zicklin School of Business.
Congratulations to Miriam Fried '20 (Queens College). Miriam is excited to graduate and pursue her PhD in Anthropology at the CUNY Graduate Center. She was accepted with a full Graduate Center Fellowship, and is grateful to her Macaulay advisors and the Anthropology faculty at Queens College for their time and advice.
Ashley Sealy '20 (Hunter) was accepted into all 7 graduate school programs that she applied to (which includes Cornell, Columbia, and NYU). This fall, she will be attending the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and will be enrolling in its Master of Health Administration program. She will be studying Health Policy and Management.
Ian Favilla '20 (Queens College) is a CUNY Film Festival award recipient for his short film, Angel. Other titles he produced include Foodman, Detective Schechter series, and his thesis project, Fair Game. Ian is a Film Studies Major who was part of both New Media Lab courses at Macaulay. As a student producer, he helped organize the 2019 CUNY Film Festival, including social media and a print marketing campaigns.
Ashley Lum '20 (Lehman) has been accepted to the CUNY Graduate Center History Ph.D. program with a five-year tuition fellowship and a first-year stipend! Congratulations!
Congratulations to Kamar Tazi '20 (John Jay)! A McNair Scholar, she has been accepted into the Clinical Psychology PhD program at the University of North Texas with guaranteed assistantship, tuition support, and an Academic Achievement Scholarship.
Taylor Burgos '20 (City College) has been working on completing her student teaching remotely and is taking steps to be hired as a New York City Public School Elementary teacher for the upcoming academic year.
Simon Heimowitz '20 (City College) has spent the past two summers, and will spend this summer as well, working for Raytheon. Last summer, he was placed in Los Angeles, California under the title of Electrical Engineering Intern, where he held a full secret-level security clearance with the DoD and was a key member in several R&D projects. On campus, he is an active member in CCNY Chabad and has led teams in the Harlem Launch Alliance. Next year, he will be heading to UC Berkley for the Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences MEng Program.
Tristiana Adragna '20 (College of Staten Island) was accepted to CSI's DPT program for the class of 2023. She holds the 3rd fastest 5K and 6K time in CSI's cross country history, as well as CSI's 1000 meter record. As a member of the DMR relay team, she came in 3rd place for the 800 meter run at this year's CUNYAC Indoor Championship meet. She has also won CSI's Cross Country MVP award for the past three years and was also awarded CSI's Rookie of the Year for tennis during 2016-2017. Congratulations!
Samuel Meyerovich (Brooklyn) received a CUNYAC/HSS Scholar-Athlete of the Year Honorable Mention.
