Outliers and Outlaws: The Eugene Lesbian History Project

Outliers and Outlaws uncovers the history of the large and vibrant lesbian community of Eugene, Oregon. Women who migrated to Eugene in the 1960s-80s candidly share stories that reveal the power of courageous and creative living. Branded as outsiders, they forged an alternative community that ultimately transformed mainstream culture and politics.

Reviving New York's Lost Black Communities Through Research

The Macaulay Research Assistant Program was designed to spark a passion and give student participants an edge when entering the workforce. Professor Allen Hillery, worked with Syeda Tabassum '23 (Brooklyn) on a project focused on studying the Black communities that thrived in New York City from the early 1800s to the mid 1950s.

Carmen Boullosa Wins a Poet's Prize

Macaulay Honors College congratulates Professor Carmen Boullosa on being awarded the 2023 José Emilio Pacheco Excellence in Literature Award. Boullosa is known for crafting brilliant journeys across all genres that uniquely embody the Mexican literary tradition. She is one of the nation's most treasured living writers and only the fourth woman ever to win the award.

Each of Macaulay’s eight partner CUNY colleges have been recognized for their cost efficiency among the Forbes 2023 listing of “25 Colleges That Deliver a High Bang for Your Tuition Buck!”

Meet native Brooklynite and third-generation Brooklyn College student president Carrie Ebbin '25. She is determined to carry on her family’s legacy and radiate her home borough’s spirit.

She is a Macaulay Honors student and a business administration major in the marketing track. This year, Ebbin is stepping into her role as president of the Undergraduate Student Government, where she will promote on-campus events, advocate for policy changes at Brooklyn College governance meetings, provide student support, and much more. Congratulations Carrie!

She led the co-creation of an AI model John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY) that allowed time-strapped academic advisors to focus their support on students who needed it most. In two years, the senior graduation rate rose from 54% to 86%!!

Macaulay is proud to collaborate with Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in a transformative biomedical research program! This summer’s cohort of undergraduate students has successfully completed the inaugural session, gaining immersive experiences in biomedical research and access to the laboratories of HSS Research Institute and clinical research spaces throughout the HSS main campus.
